About the role:
Working with our Product of the Year (POY) Canada and Convenience U teams, this is an exciting opportunity to learn best practices in marketing from some of the best industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Product of the Year engagement, especially during the peak sales cycle
- Develop social media content, engaging industry professionals with specific POY info posts and industry news around innovation. Ideally, 2 posts/day, minimum 45 posts/week
- Manage consumer channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, and help launch our new TikTok account, informing customers about new winning products via winners of the week posts. Connecting with winning social media marketing to collect assets for posting.
- Utilize the POY's IG page to stay abreast of new product launches in CPG, maintain an ongoing list of those new launches, follow potential new CPG client pages, like posts, and also engage in increasing our IG following
- Assist in building engagement at the Convenience U Show, promote innovations featured at the show, and help feed the prospective entry pipeline for the 2024 POYC Awards program.
- Current enrollment in, or recent graduate of, an undergraduate program in a related field, including social media relations, marketing, or public relations
- Experience managing or leading communitybuilding efforts on major social media platforms (FB, LI, Twitter) and/or growing a personal or business social media channel.
- Comfortable using digital tools to create and edit photos and videos that engage the audience
- Interest in "learning by doing," especially related to digital engagement analytics, PRrelated topics, and other key corporate marketing responsibilities
- Proactive, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
