Process Improvement Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team.


Primary Purpose:


The Process Improvement Analyst identifies challenges and coordinating solutions which improve both efficiency and productivity in the Finance and Accounting team.

From interacting with various stakeholders, to overseeing the successful development, training, and implementation of the solutions, the Process Improvement Analyst is a detailed planner, strong communicator, and analyst.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Works closely with the Finance department and other crossfunctional teams to identify and prioritize processes requiring review.
  • Conducts reviews to identify improvement opportunities across finance technology and financial process analysis.
  • Interviews and engages stakeholders to learn, document, knowledge of internal accounting processes and user needs, requirements, policies, procedures, data inputs and outputs, and process deliverables.
  • Analyzes current processes and consults all parties involved in the Finance department, as well as other departments affected by the processes concerned.
  • Contributes to the innovation of new processes and assists in building systems prototypes.
  • Researches, identifies, and documents opportunities for process automation and the use of tools, in collaboration with process owners and technology teams.
  • Oversees the implementation of those tools to ensure they support the newly designed processes.
  • Develops process improvement project plans for the Finance team that clearly identify the roles, responsibilities, and tasks of project team members.
  • Performing, evaluating, and communicating thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development.
  • Develops and maintains periodic reports providing current, accurate, and meaningful information regarding project progress.
  • Conducts meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Analyzing, improving, and designing datadriven reports using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools that provide needed information and insight to business stakeholders.
  • Supports enduser success by contributing to the writing and maintenance of user documentation.
  • Conducts training.
  • Performs user acceptance testing.
  • Serves as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Monitors deliverables and ensures timely completion of projects.
  • Other duties as assigned, and which are in the best interests of the College.

Qualifications:


  • BA/BSc in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 4 to 5 years of related experience in a comparable or larger business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders at varying levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience with Finance Department process improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Teams) and PowerBI.
  • Basic SQL Experience is an asset (write, pull, and modify queries from a database).
  • CPA designation is preferred.

Hours of Work:

This position is a full-time opportunity. Hours of work will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.


Location:

This position will be hybrid, working from home and on site at our Campus Support Centre in Mississauga.


Start Date:

The scheduled start for this opportunity is immediate.
