What Will You Do?

  • Supervise, lead and prioritizes the workload of IT professionals.
  • Provide users with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information.
  • Evaluate and analyse the server needs as well as load balancing on the system.
  • Ensure that backups are performed and tested for accuracy periodically. Restore operations when required.
  • Assist with disaster recovery operations as necessary.
  • Support and ensure operating viability of all networks for all hours of operation; routinely tunes networks for optimum performance.
  • Administer and maintain the use of all networks as well as connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment.
  • Provide internal and external network support (server security, software updates, hardware maintenance, etc.).
  • Test and install issued patches in conjunction with software providers and vendors or other third parties.
  • Collaborate with other IT and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security and ongoing performance.
  • Ensure hardware and network installs, reinstalls, upgrades, moves, changes and relocations are made as required.
  • Ensure that hardware is adequately sized and configured; conduct capacity planning scenarios to meet future needs.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all systems.
  • Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information and enduser productivity.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and costeffective acquisition of technology purchases; oversee warranties and service agreements.
  • Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers.
  • Act as a technical resource during other projects as required.
  • Assist in developing and managing a budget for technology, security and networks.
  • Approve all business requirements prior to the technical solution.
  • Analyse complex business needs presented by the user community and recommend technical solutions.
  • Provide support for all hardware reported problems, documenting problems and solutions as required.
  • Create and deliver business cases for technology acquisitions.
  • All other duties as required.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • University degree or college diploma in IT related field of study or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of network and systems experience required.
  • Advanced overall knowledge of networking, client / server environments, operating systems, databases and server architecture.
  • Proficiency with VPN networks, firewalls, encryption and other aspects of network security technologies.
  • Sound leadership, staff management and teambuilding skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision.
