Description
Bring your policy experience to the Capital Markets and Agency Relations Branch where you will be required to assist with developing policies relevant to Ontario's capital markets and the financial services sector in the province.
What we do:
- Work on exciting and highprofile policy initiatives pertaining to the capital markets and financial services sector in Ontario
- Work with an extensive network of stakeholders, representing both industry and investors
- Work closely with Ontario crown agencies such as the Ontario Securities Commission, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario and the Financial Services Tribunal
- Build linkages with partners across multiple ministries

What can I expect to do in this role?: In a fast-paced and complex environment, you will:
- Conduct research and analysis related to best practices in the regulation of financial services in other jurisdictions
- Conduct analysis and prepare policy options for highimpact issues affecting Ontario's financial services and capital markets, regulatory policy and agency governance
- Work with crown agencies and a broad network of stakeholders
- Work on provincial budgets and develop an indepth understanding of the government decisionmaking cycle
How do I qualify?:
Policy Development Skills & Technical Knowledge:
- You can develop policy options and identify recommended approaches based on research and analysis
- You are familiar with government decision making processes
- You have strong project management skills to manage multiple priorities and policy projects in a fastpaced environment
- You have experience in and knowledge of legislation, regulations, regulatory policy, government policies and other external trends affecting capital markets, financial services and adjudicative tribunals
- You demonstrate an understanding of the government's policies related to agency oversight and accountability and experience in agency governance, including risk management, business plans and annual reports.
Research & Analytical Skills:
- You have proven analytical skills
Communication, Judgment & Computer Skills:
- You know how to write clear and concise reports
- You can communicate tactfully and effectively
- You can work independently and meet tight deadlines
- You demonstrate good judgment when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
