Job Summary


The Analyst, Business - Fleet Management is responsible for gathering information and mapping business processes for special projects and initiatives within CN's Fleet Management Department.

The incumbent ensures that all critical requirements are captured and relayed to the project delivery team. The role identifies areas of improvement and offers solutions for optimal task performance.

The position liaises with key project stakeholders across various functions and acts as a first point of contact for all queries.


Main Responsibilities

Gather and Manage Business Needs

  • Plan overall implementation timelines and activities for projects and initiatives
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, interviews and meetings, mindful of the impact of organizational change
  • Create and validate the current and futurestate processes with business partners
  • Map business processes and roles to activities (Workflow Diagrams, Responsible, Accountable, Consulting, Informed Matrix (RACI), etc.) and follow the Process Classification Framework (PCF)
  • Analyze processes to identify business opportunities
  • Elicit and document business requirements from internal and external partners (Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTMs), User Stories, Use Case, etc.)
  • Analyze, synthesize, document, translate and communicate business information to technical teams and vice versa
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders (Business, I&T, Customers, etc.)
  • Lead crossfunctional collaboration with other projects or programs to validate business needs
  • Understand crossproject dependencies to align project deliverables
  • Support the Business in product backlog prioritization
  • Analyze, clarify and prioritize project requirements
  • Manage requirements throughout the project life
  • Maintain requirement changes traceability
  • Support the Business team in testing activities
  • Apply, and ensure compliance with all CN standards (Security, Project Delivery Methodology, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Financial, etc.)
  • Support master data cleanup and transfer activities

Coach and Train

  • Understand the solution gaps and communicate the impact to the Business
  • Support vendor enablement related activities
  • Act as first point of contact for all queries
  • Coach project team members on delivery approach (Agile hybrid methodology) and business analysis concepts (process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.)
  • Share business and expertise knowledge with project team members and Business Analysts community

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires being available on-call 24/7 to respond to critical incidences. The role requires occasional travel (~ 5%).


Requirements:


Experience
Fleet Management Processes

  • Between 2 to 5 years of overall work experience
  • Demonstrated success working with business and technical teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch solution deliveries and products
  • Experience working with Lean Six Sigma and Agile methodologies
  • Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information System, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in the operations of commercial utility vehicle fleets and railroads
  • Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset
