Position Summary
The pipefitter will analyze engineering drawings to determine the kind of pipe required and the most efficient installation layout.
The pipefitter will cut, bend and join the pipes by employing bending machines, flame cutters and welding devices to ensure properly fitting pipes that allow for the safe, smooth flow of high pressure substances.
Responsibilities
- Plans pipe system layout, installation or repair according to specifications;
- Cuts, hammers, and threads pipe to specifications, and bend tubing using tools such as saws, and pipe threaders and benders;
- Attaches pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment's;
- Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems and be able to tune them
- Modifies and maintains pipe systems and related machines and equipment components following specifications;
- Selects pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications;
- Creates Bill of Materials required for build;
- Drill and tap as needed;
- Use of hand tools;
- Measures and marks pipes for cutting and threading;
- Daily housekeeping and maintaining equipment and surrounding work area;
- Uphold all health & safety rules and regulations per Eagle's Health & Safety Manual and Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act;
- Uphold all Eagle employment standards, policies and procedures;
- Work in an organizational manner, documenting work performed in Job Sheets and submitting job sheets to reporting manager on a weekly basis;
- Prompt and regular attendance and working all assigned hours
- Perform any other duties, as required.
Educational Requirements
- Completion of high school
- Completion of onthejob training
- Completion of formal apprenticeship and technical training from an Accredited Canadian College
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Ability to analyze and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic drawings;
- Ability to bend tubes with tube bending equipment
- Ability to cut and thread pipe using appropriate equipement
- Ability to function effectively and productively within a team focused work group;
- Speak/read/write fluently in English;
- Knowledge of raw materials, productions processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods;
- Knowledge and understanding of safety and safety precautions involved;
Working Conditions

- Day, afternoon, night, weekend shifts;
- Plant environment;
- May be exposed to dangerous mechanical equipment and corrosive and toxic chemicals;
- Exposure to loud noise;
- Exposure to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).

- pipefitting: 4 years (preferred)
