Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres.


Our three program divisions are:
Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.


COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Position:
Full-Time 40 hours a week

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator will support the Communications department and broader organization in marketing and public relations projects to help champion Autism Nova Scotia's brand across a range of channels.

They will also execute a robust and multi-channel communications strategy that focuses on engagement and education.


Objectives:


  • Support Autism Nova Scotia's goal of becoming a leader in accessible communications
  • Coordinate the delivery of bestpractice marketing and promotional materials for Autism Nova Scotia's events, programs, and services
  • Strengthen existing social media platforms, blog and website and develop greater engagement with key stakeholders and target audiences
  • Collaborate with colleagues for public relations initiatives, community engagements, and/or planned events
  • Cultivate Autism Nova Scotia's credibility and authority in autismrelated supports, services, and programs through external channels

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Social media management and content curation; monitoring content and community feedback
  • Manage membership portfolio to enhance engagement with membership community
  • Create and distribute bimonthly enewsletter
  • Provide communications support to Regional Autism Centres across the provinces
  • Promote advocacy work, community partner relationships
  • Lead event management for annual general meeting
  • Write annual direct response marketing and support report writing and editing
  • Monitor media and disability sector content
  • Organize and attend team meetings with various teams to keep up to date on material for social and blog content
  • Oversee content calendar and support social media strategy
  • Champion accessibility and lead by example to support staff with language and collateral
  • Event participation and support as deemed by the Communications Manager and the Director of Development on an adhoc asneeded basis
  • Support the organization with special projects and events, as needed
