Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

• 
  Note: We are recruiting one employee for the night shift and another for the rotating day/afternoon shift. The night shift offers a $1.20 per hour premium, while the afternoon shift offers a $1.10 per hour premium._
• Maintain and wear the appropriate safety equipment as required; including but not limited to, approved safety foot wear, safety glasses, hard hat with face shield, protective gloves, high visibility clothing and/or other safety equipment for safe handling of material.
• Verify the safe operating condition of equipment, racks, chains and other devices used in the process. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to maintenance or supervisor.
• Repetitive heavy lifting and continuous bending.
• Maintain communication with and assist all coworkers in preparing and processing material.
• Assist crane operators in hooking and unhooking material as required.
• Rack and rig material as required.
• Maintain production schedule by locating raw material to be processed, loading and unloading material, and removing miscellaneous debris prior to and after process, removing and/or banding material as required and locating area for finished product.
• Load and unload trucks as required.
• Assist kettle operators in drossing and cleaning work area as required.
• Verify quantity before and after process. If material is lost, immediately notify the appropriate area to locate and assist as required.
• Verify the quality of the material, that material is tagged properly and the quality of the finished galvanized product.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• And all other duties assigned

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to lift and bend continuously.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Complete all training as required by the Company

Forklift license required, or the ability to obtain a license by passing written and hand on tests for procuring future licensing.

Crane and rigging certification required, or the ability to obtain a license by passing written and hand on tests for procuring future licensing.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability:


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to twist, reach, bend, push, pull, sweep, shovel, and lift.

Lifting requirements include lifting various sized and shaped material from waist to chest height. Some floor to chest and overhead lifting required. Required weight range for two people ranges from 2 to 170 pounds. Work 8 hours up to 10 hours per day, 5 days per week and overtime as needed.
