Internal Engagement Program Manager - Anti-Racism and DEI

(Permanent; Full-time; Flexible Hybrid; based in Toronto)

Position Overview:


Reporting to the Anti-Racism and DEI Director, the Anti-Racism and DEI Program Manager will hold a central role in driving UNICEF Canada's commitment to Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Collaborate closely with the Director to provide essential support in the execution and oversight of Anti-Racism and DEI programs.


Responsibilities:


Supporting Anti-Racism and DEI Programs (60%)

  • Collaborate closely with the Anti-Racism and DEI Director to provide essential support in the execution and oversight of Anti-Racism and DEI programs. Align these programs with UNICEF Canada's core mission and values.
  • Actively participate in executing and managing Anti-Racism and DEI initiatives. This includes coordinating activities, setting clear milestones, and actively monitoring progress to realize program objectives.
  • Assist in the effective allocation of resources for program execution. This may involve budget oversight, workforce planning and forging strategic partnerships.
  • Play an instrumental role in evaluating the impact and efficacy of Anti-Racism and DEI programs. Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes and contribute to ongoing program enhancements.
  • Contribute significantly to the formulation of policies, practices, and guidelines that embed Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion throughout the organization. Ensure alignment with best practices and organizational values.

Data-Driven Analysis and Reporting (20%)

  • Collaborate closely with the Director to collect pertinent data relating to Anti-Racism and DEI Initiatives. This may encompass diversity metrics, surveys, and stakeholders' input.
  • Actively participate in analyzing collected data to identify trends, patterns, and areas warranting improvement in Anti-Racism and DEI efforts. Translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop thorough reports and presentations that effectively communicate the progress, impact and outcomes of Anti-Racism and DEI programs to both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accuracy and clarity in reporting.
  • Assist in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) that gauge the effectiveness of Anti-Racism and DEI programs. Regularly track and report on progress against these metrics.

Engaging Stakeholders for Collective Impact (15%)

  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including UNICEF Canada staff, partners, and community organizations. Foster an environment of shared understanding and commitment to Anti-Racism and DEI initiatives.
  • Lead the organization and facilitation of meetings, workshops, and events centered on Anti-Racism and DEI. Create spaces for open dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
  • Actively respond to inquiries and requests for guidance on Anti-Racism and DEI matters. Provide expert support to address questions and concerns from a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

Research and Best Practices (5%)

  • Stay attuned to emerging trends, research findings, and best practices within the realms of Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Remain current with relevant literature, reports, and studies.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and benchmarking exercises to uncover innovative approaches and avenues for improvement within UNICEF Canada's Anti-Racism and DEI efforts. Offer recommendations for advancement, grounded in industry standards and lessons learned.

Qualifications, Competencies & Skills:


  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, demonstrating a robust commitment to Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for 23 years.
  • Profound knowledge of Anti-Racism and DEI principles, practices, and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong aptitude for collaborative work, as well as the capacity to work independently.
  • Deep dedication to UNICEF Canada's mission and core values.
