Trillium Health Partners is currently in the planning stages of a long term infrastructure plan announced by the Ontario government which has dedicated significant funding to support the construction of new hospital projects across Ontario.

As part of this plan, THP is growing the multi-disciplinary team that will lead planning for the redevelopment and expansion of both the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites.

With constant inputs on design and planning considerations from all the respective expertise on the team, our goal is to work together to ultimately produce a holistic and inclusive design.

Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Construction Manger to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio.

The Manager, construction, will manage and oversee the implementation and construction phase of THP's Broader Redevelopment Project (BRP) at one of the M or Q sites.

Reporting to either the Director (Mississauga Hospital (M) or Queensway Health Centre (Q) site), the Construction Manager will provide leadership to Project Managers and assume responsibility for the development, maintenance and effective communication of project implementation activities.


M Site project(DBFM) is being delivered as a DBFM as is a full replacement of the existing Mississauga Hospital. The new build will accommodate acute beds and a full complement of clinical and non-clinical support programs.


Q Site project is being delivered as a Build/Finance(BF) as is envisioned to create a new post-acute inpatient tower at Queensway Health Centre including clinical and non-clinical support programs.


Responsibilities:


  • Key point of contact with Project Co. team;
  • Lead contact with constructor for all items related to construction;
  • Oversee the construction progress and ensure alignment with overall design, site operations and organization priorities;
  • Participate in construction site meetings as the owners' representative;
  • Lead quality control and assurance activities during construction phases;
  • Develop and maintain progress reports on project budget, schedule, changes orders, and risk assessment;
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to a team of Project Managers/Leads;
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized templates and practices for project management and reporting;
  • Plays a lead role in coordinating with the THP design team, and associated consultants
  • Support the project progress through the Infrastructure Ontario (IO) process;
  • Participate in various project committees and working groups;
  • Oversee the commissioning process to ensure effective training and handover procedures are followed;
  • Build trusted relationships with the project team and key internal/external stakeholders to advance key initiatives;
  • Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project(s);
  • Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • University or College degree/diploma in a construction related field, preferably professional designation in architecture or engineering, or combination of formal education and equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience related to project design and implementation in construction industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with the Infrastructure Ontario's AFP/P3 framework as asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of all relevant regulatory, contractual and guideline frameworks, including but not limited to OBC, CSA, AODA, CCDC2 and Infection Prevention & Control.
  • Understanding of the health capital planning environment in Ontario, including experience working with Ministry of Health as asset
