The Corporate Procurement and Supply Services (CPSS) Branch is an essential element to the City's efficient operations and was recently recognized again for its outstanding service, innovation, strategic supply chain management strategies and commitment to thought leadership by the Supply Chain Management Association.

From facilitating the acquisition of products, services and construction equipment to balancing client requirements with corporate risk, we aim to achieve the best overall value for the corporation.

This award-winning team is looking for enthusiastic, innovative and creative students to join them.


Student positions will contribute to the work of the Corporate Procurement & Supply Services Branch and their long-term view of Edmonton's growth, development and redevelopment by providing excellent services to our business partners.

You will work with the section leadership to support Supply Chain transformation through developing and implementing strategies to assess business needs.

The position will also assist with change management to facilitate process modernization.


Responsibilities include:

  • Compile data and use analytical skills to generate comprehensive reports
  • Support the preparation of documentation to support business process analysis, redesign and implementation activities (i.e. project plans; environmental scans and evaluation assessments)
  • Support workshop planning, preparation, facilitation and documentation
  • Support the preparation of documentation or graphics to support change management processes
  • Conduct industry best practice research, identify and assess approaches in other municipalities to support analysis
  • Undertake project work, under supervision, relating to knowledge management, environmental scanning or other related areas

Note:
These positions will be a combination of working from home and on-site working conditions.


Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in a supply chain, operations management, finance or related coop or equivalent postsecondary work experience degree program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to prepare and present technical briefs and reports

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time.

Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
