Reporting to the Manager, Technology Operations, the Equipment Shipping Clerk is responsible for the shipping and receiving of all goods for the department, maintaining and updating inventory records, and placing designated purchase orders.


What you'll do

  • Monitors and manages the shipment and receipt of all goods by tracking delivery, verifying shipment contents and updating inventory as required.
  • Provides work direction to others to ensure goods/supplies are received by the appropriate area/department.
  • Receives, unpacks and checks incoming materials from suppliers, ensures that goods are delivered as per specifications and completes related paperwork such as signing delivery slips.
  • Checks invoices against orders and goods/supplies received, and resolves discrepancies with suppliers and/or departments.
  • Assembles, issues, delivers and ships goods/supplies from requisition requests received and records for charging to appropriate area.
  • Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers; arranges for delivery and return of loan and return items; completes appropriate documentation.
  • Prepares a variety of reports such as allocation of supplies to departments, stock status reports and back orders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 plus two years' recent, related experience, with six months receiving experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle license if applicable.

  • Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to operate related equipment.
