We offer insurance solutions built with genuine care - providing specialized experiences to those we serve.

What we do every day to be our very best
Every day at Securian Canada means a day spent helping Canadians and their families build secure tomorrows. We're agile and innovative, and we aren't afraid to challenge and create, or bring diverse perspectives to our work.

Who we need

Magic happens when the right people and resources come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

Our Human Resources Business Partners are business leaders first, HR leaders second. We hold ourselves to a high standard. We understand the objectives, culture, and talent capabilities of our clients. We quickly identify trends and solve problems to achieve Securian Canada's goals, driving high-performance teams.

While we continuously seek tangible facts and data, we believe just as strongly in the intangibles - judgment, EQ, the ability to listen, and having an inclusive mindset by default.

We strive to be trusted partners and coaches to people at all levels of the organization.

Reporting to and working in partnership with the AVP, Human Resources, we have an opportunity for a Bilingual Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

A true HR thought leader with significant experience as an HRBP, you will play a critical role as we build our HRBP function in Montreal and across the company.

You will bring your insights, experience, and best practices to provide strategic people and organizational consulting to your assigned client groups and will work collaboratively to have a hand in shaping the HRBP function.

What's in it for you

_ Influence, impact and ownership._ Our HR team thrives in an organization where people can bring their authentic selves to work and have equal opportunities for career growth as we work together to disrupt the insurance industry. We are as passionate about supporting our client groups as we are about enabling the strategic development of the business and are in the early stages of bringing three companies together. Your work as an HRBP will play a critical role in our continued growth through developing and deploying key human capital initiatives for your assigned portfolio. This is a genuine opportunity to shine, bring your expertise and have your voice heard, in a high visibility role, working in true partnership with our business leaders. You will have the opportunity to make your mark on how we lead our people, engage our employees and develop our talent.

What you will focus on
-
Create and execute a vision. You will act as a resource, trusted advisor and coach to leaders and employees, leveraging tools and best practices in partnership with our Talent team. You will engage with leaders in the performance management cycle throughout the year. You will participate in projects, including the employee engagement survey annual cycle. You will evaluate HR issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for developing solutions, optimizing return on investment in people programs, and delivery of improved employee experiences.
-
Knowledge growth and sharing. You will build out your understanding of your client groups and their business leaders' growth and success. You will draw upon past experience and educate client groups on corporate perspective and strategic impact in the short term, longer term, and at different levels of the organization. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and ensure compliance with internal policies.
-
Delivery of high-quality HR services that prioritize the business. In partnership with your HRBP peers and business leaders, you will develop a vision with short and long-term objectives and implement strategies customized to meet the needs of your leaders and drive desired organizational changes. You will oversee the adoption and change management of HR initiatives, programs, and policies within the client group you support. You will continuously collect qualitative and quantitative data to measure and analyze results and success
