Under the direction of the Environmental Manager plans, organizes and supervises the activities of the housekeeping, maintenance and laundry departments to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in and contributes to the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) Program.
- Ensures that the fire alarm and emergency lighting system are in good working order.
- Completes daily checks and fills out check sheets as assigned by the ESM.
- Performs routine maintenance, prevention, repairs with other departments.
- Maintains the exterior grounds, parking garage and main areas well maintained.
- Monitors water temperatures and operation of boilers.
- Keeps heating and air conditioning in good working order.
- Establishes and maintains communication with other departments, especially for new move ins.
- Maintains effective communication, both written and verbal with coworkers. Uses appropriate lines of communication with management staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System, Food Premises regulations and LTC/RH dietary standards. This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in inservices and fire drills.

- Responds to multiple inquiries as once while performing a variety of clerical duties
- Ability to prioritize work load and finish on a timely manner
- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
