About Us:

The Department of Family Medicine specializes in training comprehensive family physicians and future leaders in family medicine.

This is done through a highly adaptable program that includes tailor-made curriculum and educational programs for Family Physicians seeking a Masters or PhD in Family Medicine Studies.


Responsibilities:


The Program Coordinator will provide support for the administration of graduate education programs within the Department of Medicine, which includes the Master of Clinical Science (MClSc) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs.

The Program Coordinator will provide customer service in assisting prospective students, current students, and faculty by providing guidance regarding Faculty/Program, University, and external regulatory body procedures in response to inquiries.

The role will also assist with the administration and coordination for the planning, implementation, quality improvement, accreditation and evaluation of Faculty Continuing Professional Development sessions, and collaborate with the Director of Faculty Development to increase the scope and outreach to include teaching sessions to private practices throughout Southwestern Ontario.

The role will support the coordination and development of certificate streams, online modules, and faculty outreach academic detailing programs, and the smooth operations of Faculty Development on an ongoing basis.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • 3 year university bachelor's degree with preference for specialization in business or public sector administration
  • Experience:
  • 4 years' experience providing administrative support and customer service in a medical education environment
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and set appropriate priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Creative problemsolving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
  • A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Sensitivity to crosscultural differences and norms
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy
