Job Summary:

The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the leading events of its kind in the world with an annual attendance of 28,000 and attracts artists, producers, students, and animation fans from around the world.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a major international event This position reports to the Communications Manager


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the planning and execution of a communications plan and develop key messages about programming and artists for the OIAF social media accounts.
  • Manage and create content for OIAF social media accounts.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of quarterly social media KPIs.
  • Lead outreach efforts by connecting with community organizations to promote the Festival.
  • Create and maintain an online media kit by designing assets and securing highresolution photos and logos from distribution companies, curators and artists.
  • Continually research and update the media list on a local, national and international level.
  • During the week of OIAF, capture photo and video content for social media and assist the Communications Manager as required.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Experience communicating with members of the public (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Experiences with creating and editing video content is an asset
  • Ability to develop new ideas and come up with creative ways to present information.
  • Strong computer literacy: ability to quickly learn new programs/platforms and take the initiative to troubleshoot.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative: ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written); French and/or other languages are an asset.

Additional Qualifications Required:

Eligible to participate in Ontario's Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:

  • An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.
2. to be considered, part-time students seeking full time employment are eligible to apply.


  • Live in Ontario.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
a. Previously established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular benefits within the last three years or maternity/parental within the last five years), and/or

b.

Previously employed in Canada in five of any the last ten calendar years while earned a gross income in excess of $2000 in each calendar year.


Remuneration:

$662 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario ($ based on 32 hours per week).


Salary:
$20.69 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
