Maintenance

Supervisor to oversee, manage, and to be accountable for the rolling stock maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient operations while overseeing technicians and collaborating with other departments. The role requires strong leadership, technical skills, and accountability for planning and executing maintenance for the Hurontario Project, a Light Rail Operation we are pursuing in the Greater Toronto Area.

Supervisor will be reporting directly to the Rolling Stock Manager and will be supported by the Transdev Canada Rail team

The main responsibilities of this role include:

POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage, plan, schedule, assign, monitor, assess, train, and develop maintenance team to achieve Transdev and Maintenance objectives
  • Ensure team meets safety, quality, and customerservice standards
  • Identify and respond to safety hazards/concerns, and support respective JHSC
  • Attend daily maintenance production meetings to ensure maintenance, inspection and cleaning complies with established standards
  • Participate in professional development as required
  • Oversee, supervise, and audit work performed by subcontractors to meet Transdev standards
  • Conduct daily safety briefings
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and other third parties to ensure service level requirements are maintained
  • Ensure operation of LRV and shop equipment by leading team in the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, servicing, and cleaning meeting Transdev and maintenance standards
  • Monitor and resolve maintenance equipment and servicing issues, complete audits, identify and recommend improvements and implement change
  • Perform LRV technician duties as required
  • Assist in development and implementation of maintenance procedures and work instructions
  • Record work completed and materials used in work order system
  • Conduct inventory checks and order equipment, materials, and supplies for the LRV maintenance to support LRV Operations
  • Conducts, supports, and operates rerailing equipment and acts as flag person for the protection of the public, employees and trains during emergencies and rerouting of trains
  • Energizes and deenergizes the overhead traction power system within the maintenance shop utilizing a lock out and tag out (LOTO) process
  • Comply with current company rules, regulations, procedures, and operational instructions
  • May be required to be a certified member of the JHSC
  • May occasionally supervise Building Systems and Stops Technicians
  • Communicate with Operations/ OCC Staff as required to support revenue service operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Successfully completed a twoyear college technicians' program or higher in electrical, electromechanical, automotive, avionics, HVAC, millwright, or related studies
  • Valid Ontario "G" driver's license (two years minimum with no more than four demerit points)
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills with experience in maintenance, repair, and servicing equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Supervisory or Management courses would be considered as asset
  • Professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with senior executives and external contacts
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to industrial operations

WORK EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and servicing of rolling stock or related equipment
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience working with electrical, electromechanical, automotive, avionics, HVAC systems
  • Experience in rail transit or transportation industry preferred
  • Experience in writing maintenance procedures and work instructions
  • Maintenance work order experience: Maximo experience is an asset
  • DZ license an asset
