Chevron Australia Downstream has a vacancy for a Lubricants Business Development Manager who will be responsible for the generation of sales leads to grow the lubricants customer portfolio across key market segments.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

Generating leads and managing sales portfolio- Develop sales strategies for specific sectors where the Caltex fuels and lubricants range can develop a competitive advantage.- Provide a high level of Customer service, account sales and management of Chevron's range of products and services actively in the customer segment.- Prospect customers nationally in the identified segments drive the lead generation process through an opportunity pipeline management approach of customer acquisition (e.g., Sales Pipeline, Contracts, Orders, and Payment) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management)- Drive customer satisfaction and company profitability.- Manage a sales portfolio to deliver lubricants volume, margin, cost and targets.- Ensure delivery of agreed customer performance targets and ensure both customer and Chevron commitments are delivered in a timely and cost-efficient manner.- Develop accurate sales forecasts aligned with business development plans and optimize inventory levels.


Building and maintaining effective relationships- Build effective relationships with customer stakeholders and key decision makers (industry bodies, key customers, trade associations) to develop business opportunities and monitor and map competitors' movement in the sales area.- Develop proposals to new customers via tenders or direct consultation.- Negotiate contractual terms that deliver superior value and minimize risk.

- Ensure highly efficient logistics solutions and developed for each sales opportunity


Grow capabilities across the organisation Develop sales pipeline management competencies across the distributor sales teams.- Participate in industry forums and events to promote the Caltex lubricants and fuel range.- Develop capabilities across the business (direct and via distributors) to participate effectively in tenders for parcels of business in the sector.


Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Commercial experience within fuels, lubricants, or associated industries
  • Minimum five years of industry experience
  • Proven track record of sales lead generation and delivery
  • Ability to work autonomously with a high level of organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, complete projects and manage multiple tasks within a continuously changing business environment.
  • Strong written and oral negotiation and communication skills
  • Selfmotivated, confident, and capable of engaging at all levels of a customer's business
