Position Overview:


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this position is responsible to oversee the development and execution of a training and development program that supports the continued learning and development needs of the organization.

This position will work closely with all aspects of the organization to understand training and development needs and collaboratively develop meaningful solutions.


What You Will Do:


  • Analyze and assess the operational training needs of the organization
  • Source or design, develop and execute training programs that effectively support ongoing technical skills development requirements and Aircraft Maintenance Organization compliance
  • Source or design, develop and execute development programs to increase supervisory/management effectiveness and workplace advancement
  • Provide sustainability to training and development initiatives by successfully instilling the activities in the organization culture
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory & legislative training, ensure record keeping meets audit and PIPEIDA standards.
  • Track training and Development outcomes, and modify as necessary
  • Report on Training KPI's and identify areas of improvement based on analysis of results
  • Prepare and present business case analysis for training and development solutions
  • Establish constructive and collaborative relationships with internal client departments
  • Establish beneficial relationships with external training and development partners and educational institutions
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and direction of the Human Resources Department

What You Will Bring:


  • University degree in Education, or a related field, Adult Education Certificate, or equivalent related experience.
  • 10 years of previous HR, Organizational Development and/or talent development for an operations based business environment
  • Success in managing, developing and delivering highly effective learning programs
  • Experience with a full range of training methodologies; facilitator led, computer based training, and web based training
  • Understanding of organizational change dynamics and the role of training and development to support success in change management situations
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal clients
  • Ability to analyze cost/benefit of various learning approaches to determine the best solution for the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC
  • Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
