Mission Statement**:The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina.
RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services to enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.
Position Summary**:
Settlement Online Pre-Arrival (SOPA) is a national partnership of settlement agencies delivering free pre-arrival services for immigrants approved to come to Canada.
SOPA was created to improve linkages between pre-arrival and post-arrival services and to provide immigrants with access to professional online tools before their departure to Canada to facilitate and accelerate their economic integration.
The position's primary responsibility is to deliver an online Job Search Strategies workshop. The program Instructor provides personalized guidance, addressing individual challenges and tailoring advice to specific needs. The Instructor supports clients with job readiness skills including resume writing and interview preparation.Remaining current on the labour market trends, and industry requirements, collaborating with SOPA staff and stakeholders and maintaining clients' accurate records are essential components of this role.
The Instructor conducts follow up assessments to evaluate the clients' progress to ensure the program effectiveness and facilitate the successful job search for the pre-arrival clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Adult Education, Career Development, Employment Counselling, Social Services, or other related fields
- Experience in facilitating job search strategies training for adult immigrants
- Welldeveloped interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff, clients, and employers
- Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with newcomers to Canada, including those with limited English language skills

Duties and Responsibilities**:
Deliver online Job Search Strategies Workshops to pre-arrival clients, offering personalized guidance on their job search journey, addressing individual challenges, and tailoring advice to their specific needs.
Assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés, preparing for job interviews, etc.
Remain current on labour market trends, industry requirements, and job market demand to guide the pre-arrival clients on effective job search techniques
Provide timely online feedback to clients, including marking clients submissions, and recording their progress and making necessary adjustments to the instruction methods
Enter client data into the SOPA database, record, update, and maintain clients' progress notes, and submit monthly reports to the Employment Services Manager.
Participate in monthly national SOPA meetings.
Perform other position-related duties as needed.
Salary Level/Classification**:
The classification for this position is Professional Category 1 at Step 1. The annual salary for this position starts at $51, $29.53/hour).
Pay periods are the end of the day on the 15th of the month and the end of each month.
