Allied is looking for a

Specialist, Lease Documentation (Legal Affairs) in Montreal.

In the role of Specialist, Lease Documentation, you will support the leasing and contracting process for our portfolio in Quebec.

This, in turn, allows Allied to build relationships with tenants on legally sound foundations.


Please note, our department of Lease Documentation is often referred to as Legal Affairs or Legal Operations in the industry.

What will you do?:


  • Prepare, draft and negotiate commercial leases and related documentation.
  • Complete all due diligence activities related to requests for landlord's consent to transfer.
  • Ensure the compliance of agreements according to federal and provincial laws, as well as departmental organizational policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Communicate and negotiate nonbusiness provisions contained in the various agreements directly with lawyers, tenants, and other third parties.
  • Support the development of policies related to lease preapprovals, precedents, and sections.
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders in response to lease related matters.
  • Assist internal departments with legal queries.

What are we looking for?:


  • 2+ years of experience either inhouse or at a law firm with strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in law, a Law Clerk or Paralegal certification, or the equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving fundamentals.
  • An assertive selfstarter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
