Position Summary
Reporting to the Research & Development professional, the shipper & receiver will coordinate supply chain management activities within the Technologies division by receiving order requests, entering purchase requisitions, arranging for shipping and receiving of materials, and maintaining essential items needed in inventory to support the daily operations of Sherritt Technologies.
Accountabilities
- Manages requests of chemical and laboratory supplies through coordination with supply chain management.
- Coordinates local and international shipments of laboratory supplies, test samples and other materials.
- Coordinates the receipt and internal distribution of laboratory supplies, test samples and other materials.
- Designs and implements a chain of custody process for receiving test samples.
- Provides prompt and detailed feedback of items received to supply chain management.
- Maintains an inventory of critical laboratory, office and building maintenance supplies, including periodic auditing of inventory to ensure electronic quantities are accurate and adequate for current projects at Technologies.
- Monitors and orders office supplies as required or requested by divisional team members.
- Enters requisitions for procurement of laboratory, office and building maintenance supplies.
- Enters service requisitions for supporting Technologies business needs.
- Submits shipping and receiving related invoices for approval and payment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods training.
- WHMIS training.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Ability to perform routine tasks according to prescribed procedures and to meet deadlines in a fastpaced, changing environment.
- Proficient in time management and multitasking with ability to work independently.
