LOCATION:
Toronto Zoo, Scarborough, Ontario
RATE OF PAY:
$18.59 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize opportunities to develop skills in the area of bat conservation. Assist with field work, including monitoring wild bat populations using a variety of different methods. Includes nocturnal fieldwork.
Assist with deploying passive recording devices and other equipment for field observation.
Assist with data entry and communications for the Toronto Zoo's citizen science monitoring programs.
Assist with development and delivery of education and outreach programming/resources for Toronto Zoo's Native Bat Conservation Program.
Assist with the delivery of special events at the Toronto Zoo if applicable.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be comfortable working with the field team in forested areas at night. Must be comfortable with physically strenuous outdoor work (includes nocturnal fieldwork). Experience related to Indigenous studies and/or biology, environmental science and education is strongly encouraged. Full G license is an asset. Please provide a resume outlining relevant experience.
Must meet program funding requirements:
Must be First Nations, Métis, or Inuit
Must be a youth (defined as 16-35 years old)
