Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Child Care Corporate Finance, the Director, Procurement and Assurance Services leads the Procurement and Contract Management Team and Verification and Audit Unit in the Child Care Division.


The Procurement and Contract Management team ensures that contracted services for child care are organized in a manner that promotes quality services, quality improvements and complies with government core and ministry policy and standards for contracted services.


The Verification and Audit Unit ensures that contracted services and subsidies for child care are organized in a manner that promotes quality services, quality improvements and complies with legislation, government core and ministry policy and standards for contracted services.


These teams focus on the development of best practice policies, procedures, process tools, internal controls, and audits and reviews for contracted services and subsidies.

The Director promotes and monitors compliance with government core and ministry policy and standards for contracted services and trade agreements and provides procurement, contract management and assurance oversight including policy advice, training, issues management and strategies to implement branch initiatives and corporate initiatives.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or public administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in auditing, accounting, financial management, or internal controls.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent (within the last 5 years) experience in a management role leading and developing diverse teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent (within the last 5 years) experience providing expert professional advice, information and/or support to senior government and/or public sector officials.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience with procurement and contract management
  • Experience with Child Care Programs
