Description

Nature of the Work:

  • The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing a variety of administrative duties in accordance with established methods and procedures

Responsibilities:


  • Greet students, faculty and the public efficiently and courteously
  • Respond to inquiries in general for the Registrar's Office
  • Respond to counter queries and where necessary direct to appropriate individual
  • Take messages and forward them to the appropriate individuals
  • Assist Admissions office in mailing of admission letters
  • Sort and distribute mail for the Registrar's Office and to respond to specific inquiries, complete forms, etc.
  • Assist in mailing of transcripts and other department mailings
  • Participate in the course drop process as well as grade changes
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Student file in the Clara System when updating a student's record
  • Process document requests either at the counter
  • Issue an assortment of letters for fulltime/parttime attendance and status, diploma received, as well as other letters and written requests for students
  • Assist other members of the department at peak periods as may be required
  • Perform other related tasks

Requirements:


  • Qualifications:
  • To have a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in an appropriate specialty or a secondary school diploma (DES) or have a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as an equivalent by the competent authority.
  • Conditions:
  • Advanced oral and written English communication skills (testing may be required)
  • Intermediate conversational French (testing may be required)
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills (testing may be required)
  • Ability to work as a team player, exercising both judgment and initiative
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Knowledge of Adobe, an asset.
