The responsibilities and qualificatioins of the Cook role include but are not limited to:- Prepare meals for residents and guests ensuring all dietary needs are met
- Ensures residents are satisfied with all aspects of food preparation and presentation
- Respond to resident and/or family member dietary related concerns in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate and interact with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers professionally
- Operate and clean food production equipment and food preparation areas
- Knowledge and experience in Canadian cuisine, particularly homestyle meals and the ability to read and follow recipes.
- Passion for food and the culinary industry
- Current food handlers certification is an asset
- Work as part of a team in support of one another and our Residents
- Portion out and serve food and beverages within the dining room
- Wash dishes and utensils; operate dishwasher
- Stack clean dishes and utensils; also set, clear and clean dining tables
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing counter tops, sinks, machines, and equipment and spot washing walls and splash areas

$16.00-$17.00 per hour

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
