Our Merchandising team is responsible for connecting our quality products and services with our customers. The team uses planning and forecasting frameworks and tools to ensure optimal financial results.

**What You'll Do
**Canadian Tire's Forecasting Analyst New Grad opportunity provides you with the chance to develop broad merchandising experience. It is an opportunity that is integral to the organizations success due to the critical impact of its outcomes on customer satisfaction and the business's bottom line. You'll work in a category business team and closely with other groups within Canadian Tire to ensure the forecasted demand results in optimal in inventory levels at our Distribution Centres and at our stores.


This program is designed with great challenges and major accountabilities, as the daily decisions you will make in this role amount to millions of dollars in inventory, and will directly impact the profitability of our organization.


You will have the opportunity to:

  • Introduce exciting new products while maintaining and developing our existing product assortments
  • Create and manage POS (point of sale) and Dealer Demand Forecasts in support of regular, promotional and seasonal planning strategies for their business. This includes active management of forecasts at aggregate and lower levels in accordance with annual and seasonal merchandising planning targets
  • Manage the forecasting of specific product lines within the Canadian Tire assortment, ensuring that market, competitive and assortment insights are incorporated
  • Conduct analysis of historical performance (consumer demand, Dealer demand, store and corporate stock levels) to build strength in your forecast
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as buying teams, suppliers, marketing, associate stores and distribution

What You Bring

  • You are an upcoming graduate, currently enrolled in a postsecondary program in Business, Commerce, Retail Management, Analytics, or a related discipline
  • Experience in retail or in an analytical role, is an asset.
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity with a cando attitude
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders cross functionally, influencing and building strong relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
