The Program Quality Coordinator supports the ongoing quality of program delivery in the School of Workforce Development, Continuing Education and Online Learning by providing leadership and mentorship to faculty, monitoring and reviewing departmental processes and practices related to curriculum maintenance and faculty training, and contributing to the development of new programs within the department.

Under the direction of the Chair, the Program Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting and monitoring the ongoing quality and sustainability of programs within the department, as well as to collaborate with other internal departments related to curriculum quality and development.


Responsibilities:


New Program and Course Development

  • Conducts ongoing research to identify changing student demographics and needs, competitor offerings, labour market needs and gaps within the marketplace
  • Under the direction of the Chair, prepares new program proposals documentation
  • Coordinates the process of new program development, including PAC approval and sourcing industry experts
  • Coordinates the development of new course outlines with faculty, the curriculum department, and other resources, such as the library
  • Supports recruitment of appropriate curriculum developers, ensuring consistent contracting with a clear outline and measurement of deliverables
  • Coordinates and facilitates meetings and workflow between college resources and curriculum developers to ensure course and program standards are being met
  • Provides leadership in the design, development, and creation of new course materials and major revision of existing materials, as per program development priorities
  • Ensures that course creation and curriculum developers effectively utilize and integrate internal resources and supports in course creation

Program and Course Quality

  • Conducts quality reviews of course model shells and section shells to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with college and departmental standards
  • Connects faculty to appropriate college resources and supports to address quality concerns
  • Assists with facilitation and coordination of all quality assurance processes for the department, including Annual Program Reflections (APR), Major Program Reviews (MPR), Program Advisory Committee meetings, etc., working closely with the appropriate college departments
  • Maintains and proposes improvements to departmental processes for Annual and Major Program Reviews; Works with the Chair and Managers to Develop and execute an action plan for content design and revision, resulting from quality assurance processes (e.g. MPR)
  • Coordinates the yearly course outline review process, as well as course outline change required throughout the year, working closely with the college curriculum department

Qualifications:


  • Fouryear Degree in a relevant field of study
  • Five years of demonstrated relevant industry experience in curriculum design, program development, adult education, curriculum quality assurance and/or postsecondary teaching
  • Strong knowledge of the Community College educational structure and experience in the Community College environment is required
  • Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of learning management systems, is an asset
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills required to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
