Proudly serving a community of approximately 50,000 students in the City of Hamilton and surrounding area, HWDSB operates across 84 elementary schools, 13 secondary schools and 1 Adult Learning Centre, in addition to providing support and service to approximately 8,800 staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ministry Requirements as outlined in The Education Act

Communications technology grades 9 and 10, or any teaching communications technology qualification

Communications technology grades 11 and 12, or any teaching communications technology qualification


KEY COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrated planning, teaching, and assessment centred around the needs and abilities of students

Demonstrated ability to support achievement for multi language learners

Demonstrated use of technology to support student learning

Demonstrated commitment to improve the well-being of all students and close the

gap for those currently and historically underserved

Demonstrated success as part of a collaborative team

Strong understanding of digital skills and 21st Century Learning/Global Competencies

Understand and respond to student voice at Henderson and willing to support participation in school activities

Demonstrated successful teaching experience in a variety of instructional environments (in-person, remote, blended)

Demonstrated success in a virtual teaching environment

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Brightspace ("The Hub") platform
