VIAH is a community-based non-profit organization that has been supporting individuals and families on Vancouver Island for over 25 years.

Vancouver Island Autistic Homes Society is searching for an Office Coordinator.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide information to employees on payroll matters, benefits plan and collective agreement provisions.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests regarding payroll, benefits, and other bookkeeping duties. Follow up to resolve errors and discrepancies in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare material for annual audit and produce financial statements, budgets and other financial reports
  • Collect, research, organize and summarize data from a variety of sources and design/ produce reports such as program status and board reports.
  • Organize and coordinate office operations and procedures
  • Support the leadership team with administrative duties as required
  • Develop and implement new policies and processes
  • File documentation relating to VIAH business and employees
  • Record meeting minutes as required
  • Manage office inventory
  • Greet clients and visitors
  • Assist with special projects as required

Education, Training and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities considered an asset
  • Post secondary training in bookkeeping and office administration
  • A degree or diploma in an area related to supporting people with developmental disabilities (Social Services, Human Services, Health Care or equivalent)
  • Able to act decisively in a crisis
  • Strong technology and software skills, including MS Office, and ability to produce reports. Experience with ShareVision software considered an asset
  • Be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing with stakeholders
  • Work well both independently and as part of the team
  • Unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver's licence
  • Able to use personal vehicle for work considered an asset

  • Excellent organizational, leadership and time management skills
  • Interviewing and assessment skills considered an asset

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 20 per week


Salary:
$21.00-$26.00 per hour
