Department of Biology (Professor Lauren Chapman)
Position Summary:
- Quantifying the fish assemblage structure in Old Ausable Channel, Ontario using capture and release
- Photographing fish for identification
- Identifying local fish species and vegetation
- Deploying and retrieving underwater camera traps and video analysis
- Conducting measurement of thermal tolerance in fishes by quantifying their critical thermal maximum
- Conducting behavioural observations of fish during critical thermal maximum trials
- Data analyses
Qualifications:
- Experience with video analyses;
- Experience with small boats and boat craft skills;
- Field research experience (e.g., field courses);
- Outdoor skills Training in animal care and water quality maintenance
Experience and education:
- Background courses in ecology and conservation
- Field experience (e.g., field courses) and outdoor skills
Hourly Salary:
$17.75
