About Us:


The
Office of Indigenous Initiatives is responsible for championing and/or supporting through advice and counsel Indigenous initiatives across a broad range of areas including student affairs, academic programs, workforce planning, space planning, policy and implementation, and training and development etc..

Through collaborative and community-engaged processes, the Office will facilitate partnerships that increase Indigenous voices and presence across all levels of work, study, and research at Western.


Within this Office, the
Indigenous Student Centre unit is organizationally housed, and offers culturally relevant wholistic and strength-based programs and services geared toward Indigenous students at Western.


Responsibilities:

The Science Tutoring position is available with Western's Indigenous Initiatives -Indigenous Student Center - WSSB 2100.


Applicants must be a current
Western University Graduate Student who is knowledgeable in the following fields:

  • Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics (1st and 2nd year courses in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics)


Duties include providing academic support via one-on-one in person and/or virtual sessions for first and second-year Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics courses.

- knowledgeable and competent in tutoring first and second-year Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematic courses
- possess excellent interpersonal skills

- ability to problem solve and provide constructive feedback
- sound judgement and decision-making ability
- participation in required training/workshops/meetings
