General Summary:

The Sr Human Resources Advisor will enhance the performance of employees across the company providing consultation and support.

This individual will be responsible for organizing programs that foster employee development and engagement, in line with the company's long-term goals and objectives.

Furthermore, one of the main responsibilities, will be addressing grievances, investigating all internal employee-related issues, and facilitating their resolution.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Preserving confidential HR documents and records, making certain that all necessary documentation is furnished and current.
  • Conduct investigations of internal employee matters within the organization
  • Train line managers on how to conduct employee related investigations.
  • Assisting management by advocating, disseminating, and executing human resources programs and initiatives
  • Offers regular guidance on performance management to the line management team, including coaching, counselling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Offers guidance and interpretations regarding HR policies.
  • Make sure that effective tools for engaging employees are developed, maintained, and evaluated to ensure their effectiveness in development and delivery.
  • Providing support for all employee recognition events
  • Providing support for all functions within HR cycle
  • Responsibility includes onboarding, managing, and entering data, addressing user and line manager queries, and offboarding with employee and in the Human Resource Information System
  • Offer daytoday general support to managers/ supervisors by answering questions related to employment terms, policies, employee relations, and entitlements.
  • Conduct research and provide updates on federal and provincial laws and any changes made to the Employment Standards Act (ESA) or Canada Labour Code.
  • Provide assistant with researching various Employment Standards Act, provincial and federal laws to create and implement new policies.
  • Ensure that payroll complies with the Employment Standards Act regulations of the relevant province, federal laws, and internal policies.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of the benefits provided by the group.
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment and terminations for Canada and USA and respond to any related questions from employees.
  • Lead the hiring process for management and admin open positions in USA and Canada.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent communication skills verbally and by written in English and French required.

  • General understanding of Quebec employment standards and legislation required.
  • General understanding of Canada Labour Code and Human Rights required.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environment and works well under pressure required.
  • General understanding of worker compensation claims, Occupational Health and Safety Joint committee and PPE practices as an asset.
  • General understanding of benefits, compensation, performance management, training and development, talent Acquisition is considered as an asset.
  • General understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality Acts is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and ADP is considered an asset.
  • Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Capable of taking initiative, effectively prioritizing, and organizing multiple tasks, and seeing them through to timely completion.
  • Familiarity with conflict resolution techniques and previous experience in resolving conflicts.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills required; possess advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Office backed by relevant education and experience in spreadsheets, pivot table, VLOOKUP, mail merge and macros as an asset.

Experience in USA human resources practices related to federal and state laws as an asset.

Education and Experience
-
Bilingual English and French required.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with an HR concentration or related field or diploma in Human Resources
    required.
  • Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR Designation) holder or working towards to obtain
    required.

Must have experience in a unionized environment required.

  • Minimum 3+ years of HR administrative experience
    required.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for a long period of time Infront of a computer required.
  • Able to be a multitasker and meet short deadlines while being professional, respectful, and kind at all the times required.

Working Conditions

  • Job responsibilities will be performed in person in an office workplace environment.
