Junior Technician, Product Development


Under the responsibility of the Sourcing Supervisor and in collaboration with Buyer, the Junior Technician, Product Development, will be responsible for the development of furniture and lighting products, from ideation to final product, including the delivery of complete technical production specifications.


What your day would look like:

  • Collaborates with the buyer for ideation of new concepts or actual concept furniture and lighting items.
  • Carries out activities related to product development: formal and functional research, definition of type of materials and finishes
  • Participates in the cost and feasibility analysis of products;
  • Creates and modifies techpacks
  • Is responsible for generating artwork and text for product packaging
  • Is responsible for the creation of assembly instruction booklets;
  • Works in close collaboration with buyers and quality control departments.
  • Assembles all prototype samples, reviews and documents the dimensions ensuring everything conforms to the techpack
  • Monitors samples and parcels
  • Carries out other tasks specified by the Sourcing Supervisor

What you have to offer:


  • DEC or bachelor in Industrial design or equivalent experience;
  • 1 year of relevant experience;
  • Initiative and teamwork skills;
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in finding solutions;
  • Possess a great attention to detail and aesthetics;
  • Have the will to improve, to learn and to evolve;
  • Safety management mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, shift priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to grasp, manipulate and assemble large and small components
  • Be a powerful user of Solidworks or Sketch up software.
  • Adobe illustator and photoshop an asset
  • Interest & knowledge of home decor and furniture.
