What responsibilities will you have in this role?

  • Provides academic leadership and develops an effective learning environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum.
  • Devises and evaluates learning outcomes.
  • Evaluates student performance/progress/achievements.
  • Participates in the work of curriculum, program advisory and other committees.
  • Remains current through consultation with community and industry representatives, as well as academic colleagues.
  • Contributes to other areas of activity ancillary to the academic programs as needed/requested.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

  • Must have an undergraduate degree with a specialization in Early Childhood Education; certificate in Advance Special Needs/Resource Consultant.

A Masters credential required in the following areas:
Disability Studies, Special Education.

  • Member in good standing with The College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Minimum of three years' successful and recent teaching experience at the postsecondary level in working using an antioppression/intersectional perspective.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the role of a Resource Consultant in the early year's sector working as a member of a transdisciplinary team providing direct support to young children with additional learning needs within an inclusive environment. Demonstrated firsthand experience administering screening and assessment tool; designing and implementing Individual Support/Educational Plan, and providing support to children, families and educators.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibited innovation and professional development related to teaching, use of technology, and student success.
  • Proven commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization practice including knowledge and experience of working with diverse communities.
  • Commitment to diversity and equity are essential to interact effectively with the College's diverse student and staff population.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decisionmaking processes.
