Our diversified product lines support our mission to be the world leader in packaging and protective solutions. Come join the IPG family todayReporting to the Production Supervisor, the Packer is responsible for packaging rolls of tape in preparation for shipping.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and ontime delivery
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards
- Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment at all times
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, and carry out production and inspection processes
- Mark, record, and report defective products
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
- Remove completed products from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes or other containers
- Communicate with the lead hand, operator, supervisor, engineers, quality and other personnel to resolve equipment or quality issues
- Additional duties as requested
Work Conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive and heavy lifting (up to 55 pounds)
- Must be able to read, write, and understand printed material.
- Use of required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with high attention to detail.
- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Lifting, moving or manipulating objects
- Ability to meet consistent attendance.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience is an asset
- Work well independently and in a team setting
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
