About the Role


Reporting to the Manager, the Investment Performance Measurement Analyst is a member of the Performance Measurement Team within the Finance Division.

The mandate of the Performance Measurement Team is to generate and provide accurate, value-added performance reporting and analysis for OPTrust.

Using and maintaining various systems and analytics tools, this position is responsible for specializing in the generation and analysis of a particular OPTrust asset class and its individual portfolios as well as the generation and reporting of other performance analytics, certain risk metrics, and relevant benchmarks.

What You'll Do Accurate calculation of standard and customized benchmark returns, at the aggregate and component level for input to investment performance reports.- Ensure that reasonability checks and established processes are completed and followed.- Conduct performance reconciliation between internally generated performance and external control record.- Ensure that all performance reporting deadlines are met.- Assist in the construction of custom benchmarks.- Calculate and maintain LTIP benchmark information for compensation analysis.- Investment performance report preparation.- Communicate reporting issues and changes to requirements to Manager.- Assist with special projects as they arise (e.g.

projects related to investment performance systems upgrade and business development initiatives.- Participate in successful implementation of process improvements.- Participate in UAT testing for system upgrades/enhancements.- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with OPT staff and external relationships involved in investment activities at OPTrust.- Provide assistance with ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned.

- Attend Management meetings with the Manager, Director and other related parties, as required


What You Bring- 4 years' experience in a financial institution at the analyst level, assembling and delivering financial information related to investment performance.

This involves calculating, generating, analyzing and reporting portfolio performance.- University degree (preferably in Business or Math). CFA charter holder or CIPM certification or working towards CFA designation.

CIPM certification or both.- Strong understanding of performance measurement and performance attribution methodologies.- Practical experience with various portfolio structures and multi-asset class portfolios.- Excellent technical, quantitative and analytical skills; Demonstrated ability to perform complex calculations and analysis and to identify information anomalies and resolve issues.- Exhibit high attention to detail and high level of reporting accuracy.- Strong ability to use automated reporting systems and MS Excel.

Working knowledge of Eagle Pace.- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.- High degree of self-motivation, initiative and professionalism.
