The expected starting base salary for this position is $117,646 - $123,529 annually, depending on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.

Once hired, you will progress through a wider salary range over time as you continue to develop job knowledge, skills and competencies for the role.

What you'll be doing


Reporting to the Chief Officer, Strategy, Governance & Reconciliation (CO-SGR), and in collaboration with all areas of the organization (Communications & People, Operations, Regulatory Policy & Programs, and Strategy, Governance & Reconciliation), the Strategy Consultant (SC) is responsible for supporting the creation and operationalization of the Strategic Plan across the organization.

The SC supports in the continuous improvements, and ongoing review of how the organization troubleshoots problems, and how to best optimize the strategic plan while keeping in mind equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.


The SC provides support in the integration of organizational strategies in different program areas and teams within BCCNM to ensure an effective, integrated, and planned approach to operationalizing the Strategic Plan into BCCNM structures, processes, and practices.

Working with the CO-SGR, the SC acts as a key liaison between different departments, programs, and teams.


Key responsibilities include:


  • In consultation with the CO-SGR, the SC develops plans and processes to support operationalizing the Strategic Plan, including identifying Strategy Thresholds and Strategic Imperatives for each year.
  • Strengthens the management process and refresh of the Strategic Imperatives. Leads, engages and collaborates with project managers of the Strategic Imperatives to provide joint report on the progress of all Strategic Imperatives to the Executive Leadership Team, Leadership Team as well as all staff regularly. Plans and facilitates connection of project managers of the Strategic Imperatives regularly, enhances the approach and standardizes recurring process where applicable. Orients new project manager of the process as needed.
  • Works with the CO-SGR and the Director of the Project Management & Business Architecture to optimize the use of the project governance process within the project and capacity management. Participates in discussion on enhancing current process for project portfolio optimization suitable for BCCNM.
  • Supports the CO-SGR in planning and preparing for the Board strategy session, and reviewing the Board annual workplan to ensure Board strategy sessions take place in the appropriate timing with the intended strategic activities.
  • Works with the Finance team and HR team and supports them in enhancing and streamlining the plan and execution of the annual budget and HR planning.
  • Facilitates crossprogram and project team understanding of strategic and operational priorities, timing, constraints and shifting requirements.
  • In collaboration with the CO-SGR, assesses organizationwide impacts of system improvements, process streamlining, and crossprogram functionality against the achievement of operational plans supporting the strategic directions of BCCNM.
