Description
SMS Equipment is seeking a senior operations leader to join our organization as
General Manager, Parts and Supply Chain.

Directly reporting into the Executive Vice President, Parts and Service, this position is responsible for developing, directing, and maintaining SMS Equipment's Corporate Supply Chain function, including parts and inventory control, parts marketing, purchasing and logistics.


Responsibilities


The General Manager, Parts and Supply Chain, will lead and manage the activities of the parts and inventory management, parts marketing, and purchasing & logistics across Canada for SMS Equipment.

With a focus on evaluation of products marketed, utilization of fixed assets, capital investments, contractual compliance and warranty policy and process to monitor risk exposure of the business, this position will collaborate with the Executive Vice President, Parts and Service, to establish short and long-term business strategies, goals, and objectives to drive and maximize operational performance within their area of responsibility.

This position also provides oversight and support for SMS Equipment's Alaskan and Mongolian operations.

The General Manager, Parts and Supply Chain is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with all of SMS Equipment's key suppliers.

This position interacts regularly and has reporting responsibilities to SMS Equipment's Executive Group, Senior Leadership Team and the company's Shareholder.


Qualifications


This position requires the equivalent of an
undergraduate degree in business or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, plus a minimum of
10-15 years' Supply Chain Management experience.



Other qualifications include:

  • Previous leadership experience with experience developing, coaching, and retaining an engaged management team.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve short and longterm goals and implement strategic plans,
  • Ability to steward revenues and/or expenses in accordance with budgets; estimating future possibilities, managing revenue/expense controls, and providing informed analyses.
  • Experience operating in a diverse environment with a focus on employee engagement, providing exemplary customer services and solutions.
