About Our Opportunity

Primary Accountabilities

  • Carry out surface preparation and install or remove wall coverings including wallpaper as required.
  • Remove and reinstall electrical plates, lighting fixtures, finished hardware and mailboxes, etc.
  • Store all volatile painting related materials in a safe manner and in accordance with NSPHA and occupational health and safety procedures and requirements.
  • Identify, as requested, causes of paint failure such as blistering, caulking, etc. and recommend remedial action.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent, plus five years' experience in painting trade.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Ability to properly handle chemicals and must be physically able to perform work while using good body mechanics.
  • Ability to safely operate electrical and mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Ability to interact with the public and tenants in an appropriate manner on job sites.
  • Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes.

Assets

  • Competency in Yardi Property Management software.
  • Current Emergency First Aid and/or WHMIS certifications.

Competencies required at this level of work are Communication and Interpersonal skills, Teamwork, Organization, Time Management, and Client Service.
