Fleet Coordinator to join our team.


As a Fleet Coordinator at our Toronto branch, you will play a crucial role in the business as you facilitate the delivery of scaffolding materials to various projects and rental sites.

We are looking for someone who will collaborate with the team, working to improve processes and contribute to overall business growth.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Plan, organize, and direct the functions and activities related to the servicing, operation, maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles;
  • Develop and direct logistic processes and establish ongoing improvement plans for freight management, vendor routing, and carrier management;
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of all maintenance personnel in the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles;
  • Confer with various internal departments concerning vehicle needs and issues, conduct meetings with key stakeholders regarding company fleet initiatives;
  • Enforcement of fleet administration standards and vehicle operating policies, ensure vehiclerelated functions and activities comply with established laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate with yard managers to assure compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures are adhered to by company drivers;
  • Direct fleetrelated risk management training, such as safety and accident prevention programs, and negotiate insurance matters;
  • Monitor, evaluate and determine priority of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair projects;
  • Review the work of mechanics and other maintenance personnel to assure compliance with established standards, guidelines and procedures;
  • Direct offsite maintenance, repair and recovery functions for roadside vehicle malfunctions;
  • Prepare vehicle specifications according to fleet needs;
  • Negotiate with and manage contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers, assist in the selling or disposal of used vehicles;
  • Manage jobsite material lists based on coordinator and sales needs;
  • Direct and participate in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of records, files, and analytics related to vehicles, maintenance, repairs, projects, mileage, depreciation, financial/ operational efficiencies;
  • Coordinate daily driver assignments and start time;
  • Create daily dispatch log considering both route optimization and customer needs;
  • Liaise with internal site service teams to ensure deliveries are made to align with their schedules;
  • Communicate the organizations safety policies in accordance with applicable safety standards

Position Qualifications:


  • High school diploma
  • College diploma in logistics, transportation, or business preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet scheduling/dispatch
  • 2+ years experience in maintenance and asset management of fleet

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and are comfortable working in a dynamic and growing business
  • Direct working knowledge of operations, fleet, and transportation management
  • Proven skills to interact effectively with coworkers to assist with directing workflow and dispatching drivers
  • Experience managing thirdparty logistics providers
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Familiar with enterpriselevel SCM trackandtrace systems, as well as implementation experience
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Customer oriented, servicing both internal and external customers
  • Superior project management and leadership capabilities
  • Knowledge of applicable transportation laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Proven success in development and implementation of program improvements for costsaving measures
  • Ability to collaborate with internal business partners, senior management and supplier
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Meticulous records maintenance
