Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and lead archaeological field programs.
  • Perform archaeological field surveys and excavation for archaeological studies.
  • Conduct research and writing for archaeological and cultural heritage assessments.
  • Artifact analysis and cataloguing.
  • Provide quality review of archaeology/cultural heritage deliverables.
  • Provide technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM's business and client base in the area of archaeology and cultural heritage, specifically in Western Canada.
  • Represent ERM through communications and at meetings with provincial/territorial and federal agencies.
  • Interact with other ERM service areas to share multidisciplinary resources and best practices across the country and internationally.
  • Assist with preparing proposals and reports to meet client needs.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or related field (with a focus in archaeology)
  • Field director status in British Columbia.
  • Permit holding status a plus.
  • Previous consulting experience in other provinces and territories a plus.
  • Demonstrated fieldwork experience and understanding of field logistics.
  • Proven ability to carry research to completion.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong health and safety culture.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain.
  • Teamplayer, but also able to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Valid First Aid, Driver's License and a good driving record.
