Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health and Safety, this role provides support and day-to-day administration of the Occupational, Health, and Safety (OHS) Programs to all employees at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA).


Key Accountabilities:


  • Ensuring all required WSIB claim documentation is completed and filed with the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner (e.g. submission of form 7 to WSIB)
  • Capture, input and maintain WSIB case files while promptly responding to inquiries regarding progress or status of injuries or WSIB claims
  • Communication with stakeholders including employees, business partners, functional managers & agencies to facilitate the administration of the WSIB process.
  • Develop and maintain OHS Management System elements (manuals, programs, policies, procedures, processes, tools, and training)
  • Handle the OHSMS incident database, including incident entry, data verification, maintenance and innovation of the system
  • Development of reporting protocols to provide relevant information to the business with respect to trends and incident status
  • Liaise with organizational functional managers to ensure timely and consistent submission of corrective actions resulting from incidents, nearmisses, hazard workflows and ergonomic assessments
  • Assist in the development of Policy for the OHSMS Program Manual, including research, benchmarking and drafting language
  • Manage the concern review process for the OHSMS, ensuring legislative compliance and timely reporting to internal and external parties (EDSC, WSIB)
  • Act as the Secretary of both the Workplace and Policy OHS committees
  • Build, maintain and file documents associated with the committee administration (e.g. Agendas, Minutes, Meetings Requests)
  • Coordinate and participate in continuous improvement projects, work with business unit partners to develop and improve the OHSMS processes

Qualifications:


  • 4year bachelor's degree or 3year Diploma combined with graduate work in Health and Safety, Human Resources or Disability Management
  • Proven experience with Safety Management Systems or WSIB administration
  • More than 1 year of relevant administrative experience in a progressively responsible Human Resources/Health and Safety support role
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customercentric environment
  • Must have a valid Ontario G Driver's License
  • Able to acquire and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy and solutionbased thinking
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Highlevel proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The GTAA is a federally regulated private sector. The Government of Canada has suspended mandatory vaccination requirement for federally regulated transportation sector workers.

The GTAA continues to monitor government and health developments relating to COVID -19 and may re-introduce the Vaccination and proof of Vaccination requirements in the Policy at any time.
