Our team works with community volunteers, partners and other supporters to create safe environments for children to be between school and home and to provide caring mentoring relationships for children and youth.

Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking individuals interested in the following position(s):

  • Positions: 2 Positions
  • Status: Temporary Part-Time up to 20 hours per week
  • Salary Range: $21.82 per hour

The key responsibilities of this position will include:_**- The planning and delivery of 1:1 or small group tutoring programs - at schools and/or in our clubs during afterschool hours.


  • Creating and delivering tutoring programs that have positive impacts for children and youth, specifically in the areas STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • Focusing on supporting academic success and on enhancing children and youth interests in furthering their education and increasing their knowledge and opportunities to be successful in the areas of STEM.
  • Offering tutoring programs to small groupings of children and youth (23 would be considered small) who could benefit from a particular type of group tutoring programs.
  • Building relationships with children to understand their needs and how best to assist them academically.
  • Maintaining upto date required documentation and completing other required reporting.
  • Following all safety and cleaning protocols set out by AHS and the agency in order to safely run programming.

  • Minimum some postsecondary experience in the education field.
  • Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated good communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to manage time with children effectively and be results oriented.
  • Demonstrated an understanding of others and the ability to facilitate groups of children.
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • A Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check no more than 6 months old are conditions of hire.

5 days per week 20 hours


Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays AND Fridays from 2:30pm to 6:30pm- **Boys and Girls Club Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area really is "a great place to be".
