Role
:
Manager of Women and Girls' Program (U8-Adult)


I. Overview
The Manager of Women and Girl's (MOWG) is a mid-level management position
within Toronto High Park Football Club (THPFC) that reports directly to the Executive
Director (ED) and works closely with the Coach Development Manager (CDM). The
MOWG is responsible for the growth of all U8-Adult (women & girls') programming
across the Club by providing a positive experience for coaches, players, and
parents.


II. RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leadership

  • Assist in recruiting, developing and directly managing the Club's technical staff,
including head coaches, technical staff and volunteer coaches, within the
afore-mentioned programs.

  • Coaching assignments will be led by the MOWG and supported by the CDM.

2. Functional Accountabilities

A. Customer Service (U8-Adult Development & House League)

  • Explain to all customers how each program works within the age cohort.
  • Guide new players to the appropriate program/person based on their needs.
  • Help existing players or parents with any issues they have.
  • Communicate with parents as and when required.

B. Program Growth & Management

  • Lead/attend the same game challenge meetings.
  • Find innovative ways to enhance programming (Showcases/Tournaments).
  • Lead parent info sessions regarding programming.
  • Program and curriculum design.
  • Maximizing registrations for programs.
  • Parent feedback surveys.
  • Program analysis (on field oversight).
  • Attend practices/games within the Programs.

3. Coach Development and Management
All coaches within the cohort report to the MOWG.

  • Recruit coaches in collaboration with CDM.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for coaches as directed by the CDM.
  • Maintain an up to date record of coaches and their qualifications.
  • Coaches must receive & understand session plans & game MGMT forms.
  • Ensure coaches complete game MGMT forms, and game reports to the cloud.
  • Support coaches when developing and evaluating their technical plan.
  • Support coaches with their admin duties
  • Provide training workshops in conjunction with the CDM.
  • Provide timely reports to the CDM.
  • Gather feedback from coaches.
  • Solve conflict between coaches.
  • Escalate any long running coaching concerns to the CDM.

C. Operational Duties

  • Ensure coaches have their rosters set according to deadlines.
  • Manage and implement the offer letter sending process.
  • Communicate to parents as and when required.
  • TeamSnap, Got Soccer, Powerup, and OS systems are kept up to date.
  • Player books are completed where applicable.
  • Ensure paperwork is complete for tournaments, exhibition and league play.
  • Assist in curriculum design.
  • Assist in the marketing of your programs.
  • Communicate with volunteer managers as and when required.
  • Assist with uniform orders.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required.

Reporting

  • Provide the ED with weekly reports on the technical and operational aspects
of the program.

III. Working Conditions
The MOWG is a full-time position expected to complete administrative work at the
Club office and technical work at the field as determined by the ED. In the event
that the employee needs/wants to work from home, approval must be given by the
ED. The MOWG is expected to spend approximately 50% of their 40 hour week at

the field and 50% completing administrative tasks. On-field technical work occurs
during evenings and weekends.

IV. Direct Reports
All part-time U8-Adult girls & womens coaches report to the MOWG.


V. Performance Reviews
The MOWG will report to the ED and receive at least one mid year and one end of
year performance review.


VI. Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant postsecondary degree (BA in Sport Management).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in sport.
  • Coaching qualifications of National Children's License or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage people effectively.
  • Administer and evaluate programming.
  • Strong conflict management, problem solving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Experience leading diverse teams.
  • Experience working with a variety of diverse stakeholders and partners.
  • Solid communication skills (oral and written) including public speaking.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Experience within a sport organization.

VII. Compensation
The position is a temporary twelve month contract from April 15, 2024 to April 15,
full-time position, however, there is flexibility for a part-time agreement which
would be reflected in the salary.
