Description
***As a key member of the NFI Parts Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering support to our internal and external customers. This will include all related engineering design activities from concept to implementation, calculations, communications, drawings and bills of material. You will create, revise and maintain technical specifications, drawings and CAD models with a goal to have world class control of data critical to the support of our customers.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Create, complete, check and release engineering drawings and other similar engineering documentation using CAD software and MS Office tools.
  • Maintain drawings, specifications, bills of material for the life of the bus across multiple bus platforms.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Assist in controlled testing of components to ensure product reliability and write test reports.
  • Investigate, document and release instructions to complete retrofits.
  • Provide engineering support to multiple departments on multiple bus platforms with specific focus on Alexander Dennis.
  • Investigate, identify and resolve product challenges of varying difficulty crossfunctionally for internal and external customers.
  • Instruct and support the Quality Assurance department on product verification and validation.
  • Instruct and support the Manufacturing Engineering department on build specifications.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (P.Eng or EIT), Diploma in Engineering Technology (CET), or equivalent work experience
  • Two or more years' experience in an engineering and customer service environment
  • Motivated selfstarter with a high level of initiative
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications from multiple sources including internationally
  • Proficiency in MS office, NX CAD, or other CAD software
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational, analytical, innovative and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a professional attitude to providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fastpaced teamoriented work environment
