DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Staffing Clerk will coordinate overall scheduling and staffing of staff, including RN's, RPN's, Clerks and PSWs


Other responsibilities include:

maintaining seniority lists, call-in sheets, and overtime sheets printing reports, preparing payroll sign-off; populating maintaining electronic scheduling; populating and maintaining data; communicating with the appropriate Patient Care Managers regarding staffing issues or concerns; entering bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate coding; answering the telephone, directing and taking accurate messages and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel; and performing a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the Centralized Staffing Office.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Office Admin, Business Admin, HR or other related post secondary education or equivalent combination of education and recent and related experience;
  • Recent experience (minimum two years) in a staff scheduling role in a high volume unionized environment;
  • Accurate keyboarding skills minimum of 35 w.p.m. (tested);
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word at a basic level (tested);
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level (tested);
  • Proven proficiency in Meditech including staff scheduling and payroll;
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of the CUPE and ONA collective agreements;
  • Proven sound knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures;
  • Ability to work productively in a fastpaced environment with many interruptions;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Effective organization, prioritization and timemanagement skills;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills;

  • Must have a satisfactory performance record
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area;
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.


Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
