SUMMARY
The Strategic Sourcing Manager, Major Capital Projects is accountable for the development and delivery of strategic sourcing plans for assigned category - construction major capital projects.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to category planning and delivery, strategy development and delivery; leading opportunities assessments, and competitive bid process,.
In addition, the individual in this role is also accountable for identifying and implementing leverage opportunities across all accounts/regions and achieving greater efficiencies and cost savings for categories managed.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Category Management Planning & Delivery
- Engages stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Develops, recommends and implements category plans.
- Develops and implements sourcing strategies that maximize value and mitigate risks to BGIS and its clients.
- Leads the review and measurement of the effectiveness of the strategy.
- Leads and performs opportunities assessment activities and drives leverage across all client accounts.
- Achieves improvements in operational efficiencies and cost savings as a result.
- Manages and/or leads endtoend competitive bid process for assigned category/regions.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with suppliers by being responsive to their inquiries.
- Maintains indepth and current category knowledge as well as knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices and industry trends.
- Develops and/or maintains or proposed changes to standard templates for strategic sourcing documentations.
- Supervises other team members' work.
- Special projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Indepth strategic sourcing and supply chain management knowledge.
- University graduation or professional certification (e.g. SCMP, CPP, CPPO, CPPB, OPBA, CSP(SIG) or other relevant certifications).
- Minimum of 510 years of relevant job experience.
- Experience in public procurement experience.
- Experience in construction related procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic intent into tactical action plans, implementation plans, delivery and measurable results.
- Team facilitation, management, and leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams through influence.
- Experience developing and leading organizational change initiatives.
- Strategic thinking ability, tactical implementation ability.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
- Strong finance, business and procurement background.
- Goal & action oriented.
- Excellent communication written, oral, presentation skills.
- Procurement and contract management experience.
- Team facilitation, management, leadership experience.
- French language proficiency (an asset).
- Advanced ability to build and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
- Highly advanced influence, persuasion and negotiation skills.
- High degree of business ethics and accountability.
- High degree of client service orientation.
- Possesses a team spirit and strong collaboration.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (SCMP, CPP, CPPO, CPPB, OPBA, CSP(SIG), or other relevant certifications)
