Janssen Pharmaceutical, Companies of Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison

  • Lung Cancer. The position is based in Quebec, also covering the Atlantic provinces.
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for execution of the Medical Science Plan.

They are the point of contact for key opinion leaders (KOLs) in a given territory to support their medical, scientific and research needs.


Key responsibilities:


  • Maintain uptodate scientific expertise in lung cancer through regular attendance at scientific and medical conferences, training sessions, personal reading, and preceptorships to translate data into an applicable knowledge and communication platform.
  • Analyze data new and posthoc and remain abreast of scientific advancements in the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Assist in the interpretation of clinical trial outcomes, posthoc analyses, and realworld data.
  • Build trusted, positive relationships with KOLs, some highly academic, and HCPs based on scientific credibility, clear engagement plans and metrics.
  • Review, disseminate and present relevant clinical and scientific data in a fairbalanced, unbiased manner, to KOLs and other Health Care Professionals (HCPs), in group and oneonone settings.
  • Identify and/or develop scientific communication materials (presentation slide decks) for use with and dissemination to HCPs through contacts and meetings, and provide congress support as needed.
  • Collect and communicate relevant insights from KOLs to support and progress TA strategy.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and conduct of medical and scientific forums organized by Janssen (e.g. Advisory Boards, Steering Committees, etc.).
  • Support investigatorinitiated studies by receiving and assessing research requests, aligning investigator interests with Janssen's research needs, and engaging investigators to ensure the successful execution and satisfactory completion of studies.
  • Support local and global clinical development programs; act as key contributor to site identification, patient enrollment, followup visits and communication with study investigators.
  • Assist in responding to HCPs requesting compassionate drug for their patients.
  • Efficiently collaborate with, provide sound advice to, and support business partners (i.e. Access, Medical Education, Sales and Marketingetc.) as appropriate.
  • Provide input to influence the Evidence Generation plan, which complements the Integrated Lifecycle plans.
  • Support the Medical Science publication plan.

Qualifications:


  • Pharm.
D. or Ph.
D, or similar advanced degree, is required.

  • Fluently bilingual in French and English is required
  • Highly developed presentation skills with the ability to effectively simplify and communicate complex material to a diverse array of audiences is required
  • Past experience in the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred
  • Past experience as a Medical Science Liaison is highly preferred
  • Strong clinical and/or scientific background or prior experience working in Oncology is highly desirable
  • Ability to acquire expertise in other therapeutic areas and products, depending on pipeline and/or changing business priorities is an asset
  • Excellent collaborator interested in sharing knowledge and mentoring/educating colleagues and peers is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in managing clinical / scientific programs with a high degree of autonomy, including successfully managing significant programs from study concept to publication is an asset
  • Ability to put data into perspective and communicate it concisely is an asset
  • Familiarity with working in an environment guided by SOPs
  • Critical thinking and positive track record of excellent execution
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, assimilate and distill large amounts of information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships
  • Proficiency in effectively communicating information to KOLs, as well as nonexperts
  • Strong project management skills and ability to impact decisionmaking with relevant partners based on sound scientific knowledge
  • Business insight required, including prioritization skills and big picture orientation
  • Scientific knowledge, curiosity, familiarity and interest to stay on top of emerging data and scientific trends within the therapeutic area
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be able to manage simultaneous priorities, and follow through in a fieldbased role
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
  • Ability to travel ~50% of the time, to cover the assigned territory within Canada and, limited, internationally, as this is a customer facing position.
