Job Description:


  • We are looking for Instrumentation Technicians with maintenance and construction experience for a Shutdown/Turnaround. This project requires 2 team leads who will start prior to the Shutdown, and work one rotation of 10 days on, 4 days off.
    This position is based on a client site in Redwater, AB. This position is expected to start as early as May 8, and run until June 4. The work schedule is 10 days on, 4 days off initially and projected to run all the way through the shutdown period of 10 days. Travel pay for locals and LOA for eligible nonlocals is available for this position.

What would you be doing?- Install, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain process instrumentation, communication networks, and control equipment, including flow computers, tank gauging systems, custody transfer metering, and associated equipment.

  • Analyze, interpret and utilize the information contained in SCADA, LOI displays, and P ID drawings to ensure the safe operation of facilities.
  • Supports programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces and Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
  • Provide Instrumentation support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Use pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation and diagnose.
  • Repair, maintain and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.

  • Have a Journeyperson or Instrumentation Certificate or an Apprentice Instrumentation card.
  • Valid and uptodate safety tickets: CSTS, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and WHMIS
  • AWP, Fall Protection are assets.
  • Have high regard for personal safety and the safety of company assets and employees.
  • Selfmotivated and capable of performing tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
